Description:
Bed and breakfast near Glasgow and Prestwick airports, East Lochhead farmhouse and stone outbuildings have been carefully restored to high quality, award-winning bed and breakfast or sel catering accommodation. The peace and tranquility of this rural situation with beautiful views over the Barr Loch make it difficult to believe that Glasgow Airport is only 15 minutes away and Glasgow City only 25.
Prestwick Airport too is only 30 minutes away, and the Clyde Coast and Largs less than 20. It is an ideal centre from which to explore Burns country, savour Loch Lomond, the Trossachs, play golf on one of the 30 or more courses within easy driving distance, or to enjoy sailing in the Firth of Clyde and the islands beyond, as well as many other activities.
Bed & Breakfast accommodation in the old farmhouse includes three spacious, tastefully furnished and decorated bedrooms featuring original artwork and paintings, including some by artist daughter, Fiona. There is a public telephone available, plus telephone points for Internet access. Fax and photocopying facilities are also available. Arrival time is normally after 4.00pm. Guests are asked to vacate their bedrooms by 10.30am.No smoking is permitted within the house.
A warm welcome to East Lochhead Country House, Cottages and Gardens, the family home of Ross and Janet Anderson, their four daughters, Shetland ponies, Jacob sheep, Highland Cattle, three dogs and a cat. Not everyone receives a kiss from our Shetland pony, but a warm welcome and ongoing hospitality await all our guests.
Dinners are also available (if arranged previously) and not only is the dining experience wonderful because of the exquisite setting, but the meal itself is marvellous, often featuring east Lochhead lamb, beef and home-grown vegetables or fruits. Janet has carefully chosen a selection of organic wines to compliment her cooking.
