Description:
Denniston by the Sea Bed and Breakfast, located in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, on beautiful Vancouver Island is an early 1900´s English Tudor-style home on the Pacific Northwest Coastline with panoramic water views facing South across the Strait of Juan de Fuca towards Washington State's glacier capped Olympic Mountains.
This was the former home of the renowned concert pianist, Madam Gertrude Huntley-Green (Durand). It was established as a Bed and Breakfast by Rosemary and Drew Denniston in 1994, the year Victoria hosted the Commonwealth Games.
You can experience peaceful rejuvenation and quiet serene relaxing ocean front accommodations, only ten minutes from Victoria's romantic, enchanting, Inner Harbour Area, the centre of Victoria's visitor activities. Escape from the hustle and bustle, and relax in a serene oceanfront setting with an ambience of peace and tranquility.
On the ocean-front deck, enjoy moments of serenity, relaxing in the hot tub -- by sunset or by moonlight beneath the stars. Or pamper yourself with a rejuvenating, purifying, infrared sauna session and/or soothing massage (inhouse, by appointment/fee).
Your hostess Rosemary, formerly from Hawaii, invites you to enjoy and rejuvenate in the peace and quiet of their serene, relaxing atmosphere. The Denniston Family has been in Victoria for more than three generations. If you are a newcomer to the Pacific Northwest area, their experience may be valuable to you.
Adjacent to the property is Denniston Park where you will find yourself surrounded by the wonders of nature as you stroll along the waterfront walkway. This setting offers picturesque views in numerous directions that will nurture your spirit. The activities of the birds (bald eagles) and sea life (seals and otters), along with the coming and going of Canada's West Coast Navel Fleet, cruise ships, ferries, freighters, and other ocean going vessels, provide visual delights both day and night, year round.
The guest living room overlooking the ocean waters of the Juan de Fuca Strait is there for your relaxation and enjoyment. Across the water, Washington State's glacier-capped Olympic Mountain Range greets you each morning as you savor a hearty breakfast.
In the living room area you will find morning newspapers; a library to satisfy almost every intellectual palate; playing cards and games, binoculars to watch the ocean activities and a fireplace, ready to light. Also a collection of many of Victoria's restaurant menus, brochures, maps from and for almost everywhere; plus bus, ferry, train, and airline schedules. Custom day-trip packages designed for you are available (request in advance).
