Description:
The resident proprietors, Anthony and Elizabeth Robinson, the third generation of Lakeland hoteliers, have now been at Coniston Lodge for ten years. We hoped to create something just a little different, a small hotel, with that very special feeling of staying in someone's beautiful home, but with the facilities you would expect in a modern hotel.
We hope we have succeeded. One of our regular guests calls the lodge his "little piece of heaven on earth". And in 1993 the RAC awarded us their "Small Hotel of the Year" (Northern Region) citation.
Coniston Lodge has six enchantingly furnished en-suite bedrooms, three twin and three doubles, one with a four poster bed. All are equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, colour t.v, radio, direct dial telephones, hairdryers and trouser press.
Each one is named after a local mountain tarn. Our Dining Room and Lounge, where you may enjoy your aperitifs and after dinner drinks overlooking the garden, are furnished in a very comfortable country cottage style, with lots of lovely antique accessories.
