Description:
Welcome to Clifton House, a Grade II listed gothic Victorian house of splendour, with 17th century origins. Quintessentially English with exquisite furniture, pictures and mirrors, we are situated just 7 miles from the Georgian city of Bath with Roman Baths and museum.
We are also within walking distance of fine restaurants and wine bars and also a great deli! There are numerous places of interest including Longleat, Stonehenge and the Cotswolds. Many of the local villages are quaint and are an essential part of our heritage.
Closer to Clifton House, you have the canal and river for boat trips or walks and there is an indoor pool in the town as well as a large golf club nearby, so the whole family should be able to find something to interest them.
The wonderful decor and furnishings at Clifton house offer you a restful and relaxing break and we like to make our guests feel welcome as soon as they arrive. You can use the drawing room and read the papers and we want to share this amazing house with you.
Room 1 - Very large room, feature fireplace, with king size four poster bed and "turret" en-suite shower room
Room 2 - Very large room, feature fireplace, with king size four poster and private bathroom with shower opposite (bathrobes provided)
Room 3 - Beautiful room with king size four poster and large en-suite bathroom with shower
Room 4 - Twin sleigh beds often used with room 3
Room 5 - King sleigh bedded room with private (not en-suite) bathroom - bathrobes provided
Guest rooms all have tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits provided. We welcome guests with tea or coffee and cake or cookies in our drawing room upon arrival.
Breakfast is our favourite time of day when we prepare a delicious breakfast, served in the dining room (candlelit in winter) with full English, fresh fruit salad, tea and fresh coffee, fruit juices, homemade muffins and hot toast.
