The Proprietor, Peter Sturman, continues the long established tradition, dating back to the 18C Coaching Inn days, of offering the quality accommodation, fine food and atmosphere you would expect from a Yorkshire Dales hotel and popular public house.
Reeth, capital of Swaledale, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, is appreciated by visitors for its easy access to unspoilt and varied landscapes. The Reeth area has hosted many period films and TV series, most notably James Herriott's "All Creatures Great and Small".
The Buck has 10 spacious en-suite rooms. All rooms have colour television, hospitality tray, safe and hairdryer. Savour the charm of the beamed bar with its open fire and enjoy one of the many local real ales including Black Sheep Bitters and Theakstons which are kept to award winning standards.
The only bar in Reeth awarded the Cask Marque, for the last five years in succession. The first class kitchen offers freshly prepared home made meals using locally sourced ingredients. The wide selection of dishes includes vegetarian and children's menus.

Central for many walks in the Yorkshire Dales National Park the Buck is situated on Wainwright's Coast to Coast Route the Dales Way, and adjacent to the Pennine Way. Mark Reid's famous Inn Way includes The Buck.
There are many mountain biking routes around Reeth, including the Dales Cycle way. The Buck provides secure lock-up facilities for residents' bikes, and bike hire can be arranged locally. Dales Mountain Biking also arrange accompanied inclusive tour packages or tailor made programmes.
