Description:
If you are seeking a high standard of accommodation in Ripon, look first at Box Tree Cottages. We are situated only a few minutes walking distance of the Market Place for easy access to the local shops and restaurants and have ample parking space. Rates are from £60 per room per night.
Box Tree Cottages is Grade II listed and built about 1800 as three cottages but which are now combined into one building and are set in about an acre of gardens. Until 2000 they had been used as student accommodation for the College of Ripon and York (now closed). The property is beautifully decorated to a co-ordinated scheme and furnished with antiques. All rooms are spacious, prettily decorated and well fitted. They have an en-suite shower room, TV, tea, coffee and hot chocolate making facilities, hair dryer and radio/alarm. Residents have their own Lounge and Dining Room.
You will be assured of a warm welcome and a first class hot or cold breakfast.
Ripon is a fine centre for a Yorkshire holiday with easy access to the surrounding attractions. Only 3 miles away is Fountains Abbey with its World Heritage gardens and the adjoining Studley Royal deer park. Both Newby Hall, about 2 miles away, and Beningborough Hall, nearer York, have excellent tourist facilities with stately homes and attractive gardens. The village of Masham with its large traditional market square and two breweries is worth a visit. Brimham Rocks owned by the National Trust offers interesting walks. The North Yorkshire Dales and Moors with their wild landscapes and cosy stone villages offer some of the most interesting walking and cycling countryside available. Ripley Castle, owned by the Ingilby family for 675 years, is open to visitors. Racing enthusiasts are, of course, well catered for with many racecourses in Yorkshire. We have Ripon racecourse which has many meetings through the summer, including some in the evening, and which can be combined with other local meetings for a racing holiday. The elegant spa town of Harrogate is 10 miles away and the many attractions of York are about 25 miles away.
Parties can be accommodated for weekends with dinner but you must provide your own wine. Ask for details.
Speak to Sue, Barbara, Bill or Barry for any enquiries.

Stay was excellent. As it is a Listed Building not everything is completely "modern" but everything was supplied. Breakfast was "just as ordered" in a friendly Dining Room. Sue, Barry, Barbara and Bill made wonderful hosts. We will definitely stay there on all our visits to Ripon. Thank you!
