Bishopton Grove House is a privately owned Guest House and has been run by the same family for the past 24 years. The house dates from around 1800 and is grade 2 listed. During the early 19th century it operated as a school and one of its pupils was the future Dean Henry Liddell of Oxford, father of Alice Liddell, Lewis Carroll's 'Alice in Wonderland'.

There is off-road parking and the house is situated about 3/4 mile from the centre of the ancient market town and Cathedral City of Ripon which has a good variety of restaurants to suit all tastes and pockets. It is just 3 miles from the outstanding National Trust owned site of the ruins of Fountains Abbey (founded 1132), set in the beautiful grounds of Studley Royal and less than a mile to the ancient Cathedral (founded 672). Newby Hall, Ripon Racecourse, Lightwater Valley and Brimham Rocks (NT) are all within 15 minutes drive.
