Description:
Birdwood Villa Farm is the home of Gordon & Marilyn King and family. This is a 60 acre arable farm set in the Severn Valley between the river Severn famous for its tidal bores, the Forest of Dean, Gloucester and the historic town of Newent famous for it's onion fayre, and the beautiful River Wye.
A warm welcome awaits all of our guests as their custom and satisfaction is the key to our success. Our hot water is from solar power as we are keen to help the environment by saving on electricity and we recycle as much as possible and uses many environmental practices.
Our guest bedrooms are all en-suite and tastefully furnished in pine with really comfortable beds and chairs and all bedrooms have colour TV and hospitality trays.
The rooms are all centrally heated and double glazed for your comfort and the lounge and breakfast room both have wood burning stoves that are lit on those chilly evenings so that guests can relax, unwind and plan for their next days journey. Breakfast is served any time between 7am and 9am with a very varied menu for you to choose from. We are particularly renowned for our generous English breakfasts.
If you have any special dietary requirements please let us know when you book. We are open 365 days a year and accept cash, cheques backed up with a current bankers card, up to the guaranteed value, and most major credit cards as methods of payment. We do recommend that you book in advance and do offer special deals for guests staying for a week and discounts for out of season visitors.

This guest-house is ideal base to visit Gloucester Cathedral and its historic docks, the
beautiful undulating Cotswolds and surrounding villages, Cheltenham Spa to the east
famous for its Gold Cup horse racing and regency architecture, the river Severn with
its famous tidal bores in the spring and autumn with the dutch water gardens at
Westbury on Severn to the west where the landscape opens out into the scenic fertile
valley.
The beautiful Forest of Dean with its 27,000 acres of woodlands, cycle paths
ponds caves and castles with plenty of wildlife to spot in quieter areas and Dean
Valley railway, Chepstow, Monmouth and Ross on Wye to the west and Newent the
Malvem hills and vale of Evesham to the north where much of our fruit and
vegetables are grown on the fertile fields and orchards and vineyards.
This should
give you a picture of one of the most beautiful parts of England that we who live here
are very proud of, and are only too happy to share it with our guests. We can tell you
where to find a good pub lunch or reasonably priced evening meal, all of these having been checked out by us in preparation for your arrival.
Meals are served in the breakfast room, opposite the kitchen at a time to suit you between 7am and 9am.
We are renowned for our English Breakfasts but do cater for any requirements if given prior notice. A selection of cereals, fruit juice, tea and coffee, and toast are also served. We are open 365 days of the year. We accept cash, cheques backed up by a current bankers card, up to the guaranteed value, and some credit cards, as methods of payment.

Stayed one night - very pleasant room with good facilities. Mrs King very helpful and friendly. Mattress rather too soft, but still comfortable. Altogether a pleasant stay.
