Description:
Set in the heart of the Lune Valley, Barnfield is a 350+year old farmhouse. The Lune Valley is the bridge between two areas of outstanding natural beauty. The Yorkshire Dales is only 20 minutes away, with the Lake District around 35 minutes.
Barnfield is a 200-acre mixed working farm. The farm has been in the same family for 4 generations and boasts an oak staircase and oak beams. There are 2 letting bedrooms, a family room or twin and a double room. There is a separate sitting room and dining room for visitors with a colour television. Smoking is not permitted.
The pub in the village serves good food and welcomes children. There are many good walks in the area and a tennis court for hire in the village. Tunstall Church has the strong connection with the Bronte sisters and visitors wanting to fish can enjoy the sport on the nearby River Lune.
The farmhouse was chosen by Lancaster City Council to feature in their Lune Valley Promotions Leaflet and also an article was written about the farmhouse in the 'People's Friend' magazine.Historic Lancaster is 30 minutes drive away with Morecombe Bay a similar distance. Barnfield Farm on the edge of Lancashire borders Cumbria and Yorkshire.
