Welcome to The Bark House, with cosy cottage style accommodation, set in the Exe Valley just six miles south of Dulverton, on the edge of Exmoor. The location is ideal for a weekend away or a short break to explore Devon, Somerset and even further afield in the West Country. Within easy reach of the Bark House you can enjoy the countryside activities of fishing, horse riding, water sports and walking plus a great range of picturesque villages, gardens and historic buildings.

All our first floor bedrooms look over the Exe valley and are decorated in a cottage style. Each room has an en suite shower, or private bath room, colour television, telephone and hot beverage facilities. The tarrif depends on the size of the bedroom.

We are registered with South West Tourism and Enjoy England and have beed assessed as 4 star.

Later this year (by 1st May) we will have our Woodland Flat avaiable. This is on our second floor, will have a double bedroom, lounge, small kitchenette, and shower room. There is an external door opening onto a small decked area and path behind the Bark House. The Woodland Flat will be let on a daily basis either on bed and breakfast or room only.

Devon and Somerset have a good selection of local food producers and we buy from local shops and farmers markets when possible. Our cooking style is a mix of traditional oven dishes and meals cooked to order all served with either fresh vegetables or salads and followed by a selection of home made desserts. Time permitting we make a range of jams, chutneys and jellies from local hedgerow or pick your own farms.
