Arbuthnot House dates from the start of the 19th century. Surrounded by a large, well-stocked, garden, it provides a friendly and peaceful setting for both short and longer stays. Falkirk has a good range of shops and restaurants. Recently its recreational facilities were added to by the opening of the Falkirk Wheel and the restoration of navigation on the Forth and Clyde and Union Canals. Falkirk lies at the centre of Central Scotland and enjoys excellent road and rail links to all other parts of Scotland.
Visitor accommodation comprises a sitting room lined with books (including many books, maps and guides on Scotland). Andrew has extensive knowledge of Scotland, Scottish issues (including Scotch whisky), and is happy to help guests with ideas on sights and attractions of interest to them.Breakfast is served in the dining room, which is furnished with Regency upholstered chairs and Victorian mahogany table. The dining room overlooks the front garden.
