Description:
This fine accommodation could not be in a better position; Anchor Guest House is on the seafront and has magnificent views of the sandy beach at Broad Haven. Sand and green hills cradle this holiday village in the midst of the coast National Park. Safe sandy beach, shops and post office, cafe, pubs. The view westward takes in the entire sweep of St Brides Bay and bird islands of Grassholm and Ramsey.

At low tide you can walk the sands into Little Haven. There are many other excellent sandy beaches locally. Bathing is safe with usual care and precaution. There are boat trips to Skomer and Grassholm island bird sanctuaries (Puffins, Razorbills, Kittiwakes, Gannets and many other birds nest on the islands). The departure point, Martin's Haven, is approximately 18 minutes from Broad Haven. Seal pups in Bays September/October.

Anchor Guest House is situated within the Pembrokeshire Coastal National Park with the Pembrokeshire Coast Path and Celtic Trail Cycle Route running right by the front door. David says, "We couldn't be closer to the beach. Even my mother can make it to the sand in less than 3 minutes and she's 94 year old!"

Broad Haven beach itself is beautiful, clean and safe. A source of pride for all the locals, it is the venue of choice for families, joggers, beach volleyballers, boulles players, and amateur civil engineers who want to experiment with the latest sand construction techniques. If you would like to challenge David to a sand castle building competition, be aware, "I have a sand castle construction kit which includes 2 full size shovels. And, the JCB is on order!"

Friendly welcome, wonderful view, bed a bit narrow, room temperature difficult to control, but all-in-all a great stay.
