Description:
Acorn Guest House - Cambridge. Ideally situated near the river Cam, city centre and colleges, this attractive yellow brick house has been carefully extended and renovated by Andrew and Helen to provide comfortable accomodation and a homely atmosphere.
Start your day in the pretty dining room at individual tables with a choice of breakfasts. Options include a traditional cooked English (cooked vegetarian breakfast also available). For the lighter eater, we offer a continental breakfast consisting of cereal, yoghurt, cheeses and fresh fruit. To drink, you may have fruit juice, tea or fresh filter coffee. Breakfast times are 7.30 - 9.00 Monday to Friday and 8.30 - 9.30 at weekends.
We have 12 tastefully decorated bedrooms, all of which are en-suite. Our rooms are bright and airy and offer both modern and traditional furnishings. All are fully equipped with colour TV, complimentary tea/coffee making facilities and direct dial telephone. A hairdryer and iron and board are available upon request. Two of the bedrooms are on the ground floor (enabling us to accomodate wheelchairs and the elderly).
LOCATION
Cambridge is one of the most beautiful cities in Britain and is steeped in history and tradition. Acorn Guest House is ideally situated for a visit to both the city and the surrounding area. Cambridge is a city best discovered on foot and guests find our location ideal for exploring the sights. Acorn Guest House is located within walking distance of the river Cam, the historic city centre and the famous colleges. If travelling on foot to the centre, the journey is a pleasant walk alongside the river and across the greens. There are a number of pubs alongside the river. You may see crews of rowers on river and in the summer, you may see punting. For the less energetic, there are frequent buses from the bus stop located close by.
DIRECTIONS
Cambridge is well served by local and national road networks. From London or Stansted Airport, the M11 provides the most direct route. From the north the A14 brings traffic from the A1(M) to the north of Cambridge. The west and east are served by the A14 running from near Birmingham to Felixstowe. It is easist to join the A14 and turn off at the Milton exit (near the Science park). Follow the road towards the city centre until you come to a roundabout (about 1 mile from the A14), turn left and then right at the next roundabout. We are just on the left.
