Description:
Acadia Cottages offers self-catering cabins nestled in a lightly-wooded setting offering guests a peaceful atmosphere. Choose from cozy queen studios to spacious king suites offering couples today's amenities at reasonable rates. We are conveniently located on the southwestern side of Somes Sound in the charming fishing and boatbuilding village of Southwest Harbor that is surrounded by Acadia National Park. Tucked away beneath a tranquil forest canopy, our property offers an air of privacy with a desirable Mount Desert Island location. We are an ideal base from which to explore nearby Bar Harbor and other island attractions and activities. Since the cabins can only be accessed by a private tree-lined driveway, they are a true get away after visiting major tourist destinations. Yet, within steps, you'll find great restaurants from lobster pounds to cafes to gourmet dining to cabaret shows at the marina.
The King Suites are well suited to couples/families desiring more roomy accommodations for longer stays. Every suite consists of two spacious rooms and a private bathroom with shower. The bedroom offers a comfortable king bed. The main room offers a living area with a comfy couch (sleeper sofa/Aerobed can be used for children), a dining area with a table and four chairs, and a galley kitchen containing a four burner ceramic-glass cook top, microwave, sink, and fridge/freezer. A bistro table and chair set is located on the cottage deck. Each Suite is uniquely decorated. Some are distinctively designed with Rustic Pine features and cathedral ceilings with ceiling fans. Others are comfortably appointed in a more Traditional Atmosphere and offer standing fans. And, of course, every cottage offers numerous amenities.
The King Studio cottages afford couples value as well as comfort in a spacious single room studio. Each has a king bed, comfortable sitting area, dining area with table and chairs, and a private bath with shower. Each kitchenette contains a 4 burner ceramic-glass cook top, sink, microwave and a full size refrigerator/freezer. A Bistro table & chair set is located on the private cottage decks for outside dining.
Rustic - For couples wanting a longer stay and not needing a large amount of space, these queen-bedded cottages are ideal. The rustic pine interiors offer warm wood hues with cathedral ceilings and ceiling fans. Each cottage has a queen bed, private bath with shower, dining area with a table and chairs. The kitchenettes contain a 2 burner ceramic-glass cooktop, sink, microwave, and a full-sized refrigerator/freezer. A bistro table and chair set is located on private cottage deck for outside dining.
