Hillside Cottage is situated 1.5 miles from Truro, Cornwall - in the hamlet of Idless with its woodlands, flowered lanes, streams, Roman hill fort and rolling hills. Our 300 year old (recently updated and modernised) Cornish home is spacious and friendly. All are within easy reach. The national cycle network passes right outside our home as it meanders from Truro to Newquay. Whether you are staying in for business or pleasure we offer a convenient, rural location and a welcome to remember.

Cornwall has many B+B's - most of them lacking in the home comforts one would appreciate while on holiday in the West of Cornwall. When we decided to start 'doing' bed and breakfast accommodation we did a great deal of research into, not just the quality of the accommodation, but more importantly the warmth and generosity with which we were received. In general we were well received by the hosts in a clean and comfortable environment, however, we never felt overawed by the welcome and homeliness.

We opened in August 2002 and only made ourselves known to the Truro Tourist Office. They were ever so helpful and encouraging. They supplied us with a complete cross section of holiday makers and business people - from as far away as the U.S.A., Germany, Australia and Southern Africa and even Cornwall! To date we have no regrets. In fact so encouraging were our guests that we have decided to further enhance our facilities and range of breakfasts.
