Description:
Gillian Wray invites you to share her family home in the Lake District, where you will be made to feel most welcome. Ashes Barn is a recent barn conversion which offers all the comforts of modern life combined with the character of a traditional Lake District building. Set in the heart of the countryside surrounding Kendal, the house enjoys delightful rural views. Watch the sheep being driven past the lounge window or delight in the breathtaking sunset over the nearby hills.
Great care is taken with the quality of food that is provided for guests. Much of this is cooked on the kitchen's Aga, including home made bread, biscuits and cakes. Wherever possible use is made of quality local Lake District produce. Tasty evening meals and substantial packed lunches are available by arrangement. In the winter Gillian runs tailor made Aga cookery breaks, which are ideal for those new to the Aga or experienced enthusiasts alike!
From junction 37 of the M6 take the A 684 towards Kendal. After 2 miles turn left at the crossroads signposted New Hutton . Follow the road through the village and when it bears sharply left 1 Ashes Barn is immediately on your left.From Kendal take the A 684 towards Sedbergh. After approximately 4 miles look for a wooden bus shelter on the right. Shortly afterwards turn right then as above.
