Boasting an incomparable location at the midpoint of Duval Street, The Tropical Inn is a quiet and private island compound. You might walk down Key West's most famous promenade a hundred times and not notice this romantic Key West bed and breakfast hideaway, tucked unassumingly away just steps from all the bustle and excitement.

Small enough to be personable but large enough to be private, the Tropical Inn artfully blends the intimacy of a romantic bed and breakfast with the casually understated elegance of a small hotel in the European tradition. Sequestered behind welcoming French doors, this lush oasis in the center of Old Town embraces a Bahamian-style Conch house listed on the National Register of Historic Places and a scattering of charming garden cottages.

Some of the rooms and suites are deluxe accommodations, and a few offer appointments so unique that they are unmatched in Key West. Others are more modest, but all have been created with the intention of providing a relaxing and distinctive island ambience that makes for a memorable escape from The Real World.

This was our 4th trip to the Tropical Inn in Key West and we love it more each time. It's perfectly located towards the southernmost point of Duval street which is the perfect retreat, Just a short walk to Mallory Square - it's close to everything! The Key Lime Loft is our favorite room there - tiny but cozy and the balcony overlooking the pool is fantastic. The owners do a beautiful continental breakfast - we had stuffed french toast one morning! They are lovely as well.

Great location right on Duval St., walk or bicycle anywhere. Jane and the staff were great, serving wonderful breakfast treats. The pool and hot tub area is loaded with lots of palms and foliage, hence the tropical feel with lots of privacy for a romantic get away. Were very helpful in arranging must do's outings and marking maps to find out of the way restaurants. Loved our stay there. If I ever get the chance to go back it will be my first choice!

Clean, neat , and right in a great location. Breakfast cannot be better. Plenty of fruits and a hot choice cooked up from Jane the owner. Atmosphere cannot be beat. Decor is total tropic. Overall a great place to stay. VERY comfortable. Rent bikes across the street and you will have a great time all over the island.
