We have been coming to this Inn since the early 80's when it was known as the Inn at Hobnobbin Farms. Now there are new owners, Louis and Sam. They have made us feel very welcome and cannot do enough for us. To them I offer a short line from Neil Young "Long may you run". To all who read this, enjoy this special place!
The highly acclaimed and popular Great Tree Inn is conveniently located to many of the region's attractions, including the Chautauqua Institution, Chautauqua Lake, local antique shopping, wineries, restaurants as well as abundant outdoor recreation. The Inn is a converted and recently upgraded 1820 farmhouse and barn guarded by an ancient black locust tree. Each of the guest rooms features modern conveniences such as flat-panel TVs, firepla ces, full private b aths and air conditioning whilst retaining old world ambiance with elegant country furnishings and decor. Guests enthuse about the hospitality, breakfasts and culinary dining experiences.
Open year-round, refresh your spirits in the shade of the flowered pergolas or relax in the warmth of the fireplaces in the bedrooms or living areas. Fireside and candlelight dining is available in the "Out of Africa" Le Indaba dining-room. The Inn provides direct access to scenic trails that offer excellent hiking, biking and horse-riding in the warmer months and snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and sleigh-rides in the winter.
Continuing with our mission which is to offer our guests a unique lodging and dining experience, we are introducing weekends that feature exotic ethnic dining. Themed weekends include some our personal favorite dishes stemming back to the time we spent in Africa, Europe, the Middle East and the lower Caribbean and that were voted as 'favorites' by those who spent time with us as guests on our yachts.
The Great Tree Inn's weekend "Spa Retreat" offers elegance, serenity and an overall escape from the realities of that which we face every day! During your one stay in one of our relaxing Suites, you and your guest will each experience and take pleasure in a deep tissue massage - in your room.
