The Doubleday Inn is the only Gettysburg Bed & Breakfast located directly on the National Battlefield. Situated on Oak Ridge near the Eternal Light Peace Memorial, we are just one mile from the town square yet worlds away from all the hustle & bustle. Step out the front door and begin your Gettysburg Battlefield experience with a walk amongst the monuments commemorating the First Day's fighting. Enjoy the panoramic views of 8-10 miles from one of our peaceful patios or second floor deck.
The Doubleday Inn has 9 guest rooms, each beautifully decorated and featuring a private bath. All lodging accommodations are uniquely done in an upscale country décor with tasteful Civil War accents and antiques. Each room features private bath, wireless internet access, central air conditioning and panoramic Battlefield views. We serve a delicious candlelit country breakfast each morning along with a variety of refreshments including English teas, hot chocolate and homemade cookies in the afternoon or evening. On selected evenings we feature question & answer sessions with our resident historian. Charles Kingston is a licensed battlefield guide who brings the battle to life with accurate historic accounts of the historic fight.
Our beautifully landscaped gardens with extensive outdoor seating provide ample opportunity to relax and take in the panoramic Battlefield views. Guests enjoy the Inn's central air-conditioning during the hotter summer days as well as a uniquely framed fireplace in the common living room area during cold weather seasons. Especially popular is the excellent small library of books on the Battle of Gettysburg and other Civil War subjects.
