Hilo is the perfect location for exploring the east side of the Big Island. It is arguably the most authentic Hawaiian town left. Our local Farmer's Market is filled with the tropical fruits and flowers you would expect to find, plus many you may have never seen before due to the influence of the many cultures which exist in here in harmony. Our most famous attraction is the world's most active volcano at Volcanos National Park, an easy 45 minute drive from town. The tradewinds bring tropical rains so here you will find waterfalls and botanical gardens. We have several excellent snorkelling spots and my favorite beach is just 10 minutes from the inn. We are within walking distance to downtown restaurants and museums, but we do recommend a rental car to take full advantage of the many activities available.
This 1933, plantation style home has been recently renovated to serve as a distinctive B&B offering luxury accommodations. All rooms have plush pillowtop mattresses and quality linens. We offer wireless internet, in room refrigerators, cable TV, irons/ironing boards, hair dryers, ceiling fans and daily housekeeping. Each room has a private bath with custom tiled showers. Rates quoted are for double occupancy and do not include the 11.25% Hawaii taxes. Extra guests in the two suites are $25 per person, per night. One night stays are an additional $25. We welcome well-behaved school age children.
SAMURAI SUITE
The master bedroom, complete with tatami mat floors and shoji screens, has panoramic views of Hilo Bay and the entire town. At night watch the twinkling city lights from the king size bed, or enjoy a glass of wine on the sunporch. In the morning be treated to a beautiful island sunrise. A 2nd bedroom has two twin beds with bay views. The large marble bath is complete with 2-person furo-style soaking tub and separate shower as well as two separate vanity areas. This room is ideal for a honeymoon or a family. It accommodates 4 guests and is available for $250 USD, double occupancy, plus tax.
BALI HAI SUITE
A tropical oasis located on the main floor, you enter this suite through a sitting room which contains a daybed and armchair, The bedroom, through double pocket doors, is dominated by a four poster queen size bed. The window seat looks out on tree ferns which shelter orchids and anthuriums. The large bath boasts a teak dresser and tiled shower with convenient bench. $175 USD per night, double occupancy, plus tax. Can sleep 3 guests.
HONU;S NEST
The peaceful blues of the ocean set the theme for this garden view guestroom and tradewind breezes carry the songs of the birds. Enjoy the queen size bed and comfortable recliner where you can work on your laptop or watch television. The private bath has a custom tile mosaic shower. This room accommodates two and is $140 USD per night, plus 11.25% tax.
