Ideally located in the Adirondack Mountains, close to Lake Placid, the High Peaks and the Saranac chain of lakes, we offer a welcoming retreat to meet every need.
We are no longer operating as a traditional Bed and Breakfast but are offering the house as a whole-house rental with a 3-day minimum, in season. This has a big advantage in that all meals can be taken (made by you or order in) at the Doctor’s Inn because no matter how many rooms you take (from 2 to 5) you will have exclusive use of the large house.
The large Adirondack-style living room is warmed by a woodstove in a fieldstone fireplace and is lined with an eclectic collection of old and new books. The style of the Doctor's Inn is one of a welcoming and "kick-back" atmosphere that makes you feel at home and at ease. Once the home to the research doctors of the world-famous Trudeau Sanatorium, The Doctor's Inn was designed by architect George Schrader in the early 1900's.
The wraparound porch reminiscent of the "cure" days brings peacefulness for guests who still enjoy the restorative powers of the fresh mountain air and carefree days
The property is close to town but away from the main roads. An ideal spot to escape from the hustle and bustle and a perfect place to begin and end your Adirondack Experience
