Originally built in 1739 by Abram & Lydia Dillingham, on land purchased from the native Indians, the original owners of this homestead were Quakers, like many of the settlers of the village. For over 200 years, the property included 20 acres and was a private home.
For the past 100 years, this home has been an Inn under the names of ‘Ye Olde Homestead’ and ’The Elms’ and now, the Chapoquoit Inn. Sitting on three landscaped acres in the heart of the Historic District of prestigious West Falmouth, the Inn retains its gracious charm.
The Inn also provides the perfect home base for searching out the immediate area, Falmouth, Woods Hole, the Cape and beyond. Located just 65 miles south of Boston and about an hour from the Providence airport, day trips throughout Eastern Massachusetts are fun and easy.
Surrounded by extensive gardens, with a splendid array of seasonal flowers, the Inn offers the inviting place to relax and unwind. You are encouraged to take advantage of our spacious, comfortable living room, sunlit breakfast room, deck or gardens.
The Inn’s guestrooms have all been redecorated this season. Sll offer new, fluffy, pillow top mattresses, private baths and
air conditioning. Our new deluxe cottage includes the Captain’s Quarters and the Garden View, Both overlooking our grounds. Each offers a cozy sitting area with gas fireplace, television with VCR, a refrigerator, air conditioning and private bath with shower.
