Bandera, Texas' hillside hacienda Bed & Breakfast is a true romantic get-away! The central courtyard features flowers, cascading fountains, spiraling stairways and meandering walkways. The massive Spanish wall at the end of the courtyard is flanked by a two sided fountain on one end and a circular rock fire pit on the other. Two patio rooftops offer spectacular views of the Texas Hill Country, birding, wildlife viewing, awesome sunsets and star gazing! From one patio roof, guests can see a heart shaped pond surrounding a fountain with Texas outlined in rock!
Casas de Amigos looks like old abobe, but it actually is state of the art, high energy efficient homes with 10-inch thick walls. The inspiration and design come from San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, with simple elegance and entertainment in mind. Two private, romantic casitas (3-room suites) are on one side of the courtyard, and the main house is opposite. Hammock, tables and chairs, benches and leisure areas abound for guests to enjoy birds, fountains, and quiet pleasure of Bandera's cowboy countryside.
Casitas, 3-room guest suites, are very private and romantic with candles and ambiance. Each has a fully equipped kitchen, including complimentary beverages of choice and snacks. Full bedrooms feature queen beds, and full baths have jacuzzi tub/showers. Living areas have full-size futon sofas and radio/CD/tape players - bring your favorite music!
Dining is special at Casas de Amigos with full breakfasts included. Selections for breakfast may be elaborate or simple, including fruits, juices, and homemade jams, served in the main dining area, casitas, courtyard, or roof top - weather permitting.
Walking in a wooded, quiet rural area is a special pleasure, or fossil rock hunting along the creek. Others read in the hammock, count bird species enjoying the fountains and bird feeders, or watch deer, foxes, jack rabbits, and wildlife from patio rooftops. Glorious sunsets, fabulous Hill Country views, and stargazing draw guests to rooftops evenings and nights.
Bandera is known for its great music and dance halls, and reservations or event tickets may be scheduled at cost. Come dance the night away! Antiquing and shopping keep guests busy in the daytime, as well as drives through the exciting Texas Hill Country with clear streams, wildlife, rugged terrain, and many parks such as Lost Maples, Enchanted Rock or Garner State Park.
