WEST VIEW is an attractive listed, late Victorian house in the village of Bishop's Lydeard. Close to the terminus of West Somerset Steam Railway, about 5 miles from centre of Taunton, county town of Somerset. Well situated, both north and south coasts within easy reach, as are the Quantocks, Brendon Hills and Exmoor.

Bath, Glastonbury and Exeter are also within easy driving distance. Dogs welcome by arrangement.TAKE A358 FROM TAUNTON TO MINEHEAD. TURN RIGHT AT FIRST SIGN FOR BISHOPS LYDEARD. AT CROSSROADS, GO STRAIGHT OVER, WEST VIEW IS ON YOUR RIGHT AFTER 50 YARDS.

loved this house, so much character, enjoyed our stay, Ann really welcoming and helpful, within walking distance of West Somerset Railway, in a very pretty village, would love to visit again

Felt a little as though embarking on a military operation upon arrival and that my timing (agreed in advance) was inconvenient to the hostess. However much better experience at breakfast & taking a dog not a problem.

Pleasant accommodation in a great area. Room was very cold at night (we did stay through one of the coldest nights of the year) although we found extra blankets this was not until the following morning. Breakfast was good but could have been a little larger if description of a "full English" was truly accurate.

A beautiful Victorian house tastefully decorated; the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and warm.

Accomodation was excellent, a little cold in the nights as the heating had been switched off but extra blankets were provided. Breakfasts made to order catering for vegetarians at a reasonable time. Local pub serving evening meals close by. Staff helpful and professional. Would definately stay there again.

Lovely house, exceptionally clean, nice room, comfortable bed, excellent breakfast and hospitable landlady. All of this with a good pub at the bottom of the lane and within a stroll of the West Somerset Line. What more could you want. Very good value for money.
