Positioned on the waters edge with stunning sea views over the rugged North Devon coastline. Private steps lead directly to the sandy beach. Watersmeet Hotel is one of the highest rated three star hotels in the West Country and has gained a reputation for its impeccable service, generous hospitality, excellent cuisine, and of course its magnificent coastal location.

The candlelit restaurant with views of the coastline and glorious sunsets has been said to be among the best restaurants you will see. A tasteful refurbishment has seen the bedrooms luxuriously transformed, consistent with the high standard of the hotel, to continue the comfort and relaxation theme. All rooms have uninterrupted sea views.

Directions:

Leave the m5 at Junction 27, sign posted Tiverton and a361 to Barnstaple. Follow the a361 through Barnstaple and Braunton, heading towards Ilfracombe. Five miles past Braunton you will come to Mullacott Cross roundabout, take the first exit left signposted Woolacombe on the b3343, follow this road for two and a half miles into Woolacombe. Turn right along the Esplanade, signposted Mortehoe. The hotel is three quarters of a mile on the left hand side.

Most enjoyable. Fantastic location, great food. Only disappointment was the view from the bedroom window - it must have been one of the worst in the hotel. I wondered if this was because we booked via an internet agency, rather than direct with the hotel? The receptionist said that they had only taken the final bookings for the Easter weekend a few days before, and since we booked >1 month ahead, I would have expected to have been given one of the better rooms
