Three Crowns Hotel
This 13th Century Inn occupies a significant position in the history of ''picturesque'' Chagford, with mullioned windows, massive oak beams, a great open fireplace and four poster beds. This distinctive atmosphere creates a splendid location in which to relax and enjoy the hotel conviviality. Whilst retaining the essential character of this impressive building - its granite construction giving a feeling of immense solidarity - a considerable amount of work has been carried out in recent years to provide all the services and comforts expected of a modern hotel

A visitor to the Three Crowns cannot fail to capture the almost timeless atmosphere of a building that has centuries of historical associations. Chagford is a welcome paradise for the Walker , Angler, nature lover and golfing enthusiast set in this most beautiful and secluded part of the Dartmoor National Park .

Although the bedrooms have increasingly been provided with modern furnishings. The main feature of many of the rooms is the fine four poster bed which is in keeping with the character of this one time manor house. With central heating in all bedroom, guests may be assured of a comfortable and restful stay. All our room come with colour television, telephone and tea & coffee making facilities.

Chagford is located within easy reach of the main routes through Devon. The M5 motorway is just 20miles away in Exeter giving high speed link to the rest of the country. This means journey times from London (and it's major airports) are less than 4 hours. The main railway line for the area runs through both Exeter and Newton Abbot making Chagford only a short bus or taxi journey away. The local airports are in both Exeter and Plymouth. There are regular flights to the rest of the country from both of these airports.

For those of you who read my comment about everything being nice, but the bathroom, THAT WAS MY MISTAKE!!!! I didn't realise I was replying for the Three Crowns!! I thought it was for another hotel in Chagford!!! COMPLETELY disregard it please. I've never stayed at the Three Crowns!!!! So sorry.

The breakfast was delicious, the people were helpful and friendly, the bedroom was beautiful, and the only problem was the bathroom. It looked terrible. Run down, no toilet paper (until I asked), only a narrow stand up shower. I wish the bathroom had suited the rest of the place.
