The Woodside Hotel, St Ives

St Ives is one of the most famous seaside holiday towns in the UK. Away from the beaches the harbour is a main attraction where fishing boats still moor alongside granite piers and the view can be enjoyed from the many bars and restaurants. During the summer months the town is a blaze of colour; its maze of narrow streets filled with flowers - not surprising for a regular winner in the 'Britain in Bloom' competition. Nearby are coastal walks for those who wish to savour the rugged landscape and wild flowers set off by the beautiful turquoise sea.
As well as its tradition of fishing, it is world famous as an art centre; studios, shops and galleries are everywhere including the Tate St. Ives. Slightly further afield are Land's End and the Eden Project and many great gardens and stately homes, including St. Michael's Mount. Other attractions within easy reach include wildlife centres, theme parks for children and many that celebrate the Cornish cultural, industrial and maritime heritage.
