The Unicorn Hotel, Skipton

Susan and Edward wish to warmly welcome you to the Unicorn Hotel. The Unicorn is part of the original Bentley Brewery Building which came into being just after World War I when the Keighley Road approach to the town centre was widened.

The whole building was a public house and hotel, up until the mid 70’s when a conversion took place leaving the property in its current set-up. The hotel occupies the first and second floors, while on the ground floor there exists several commercial units e.g. the Yorkshire Building Society and an estate agency. We are obliged to keep the word “Hotel” in our title but in reality we are actually a bed and breakfast establishment.

ROOMS
There are nine bedrooms at the Unicorn……..however there are no single rooms.
This of course means we offer our double rooms at single occupancy rates.
There are three standard double rooms and two superior double rooms. The superior rooms are somewhat larger than the standard ones and as such are a better option for guests to relax in if they are staying longer than one night.
We have two rooms each with a double and a single bed. These are our small family rooms. They are also used as twin-bedded rooms. We also have a larger family room which is comprised of one double bed and two single beds.
Finally, there is our Deluxe bedroom in which there is a king-size bed. This room also has its own sitting area.
All rooms are centrally heated and have ensuite bathroom facilities (shower over the bath in each bathroom). Tea and coffee making facilities and a TV are available in each room.
An iron and ironing board are available on request.
We will do our best to satisfy guest requirements but certain things we cannot do e.g. laundry.

BREAKFAST
A traditional English cooked breakfast (or a vegetarian option) is served in the Dining Room from 07.00 to 09.00. This means that a good meal is available for those early starters. In order to organise breakfast efficiently, we ask guests to fill in and return our breakfast order form. This lets us know the type of breakfast that guests require and the time that they expect to eat.

Please note that if you require a stay of more than four nights or wish to book in for several weeks say Monday to Thursday, we can offer you a special rate appropriate to the length of stay. Please call us for details.

LOCATION AND OTHER INFORMATION
The Unicorn Hotel is centrally positioned opposite Skipton’s Bus Station and the Westgate department store. So we are very convenient to shops, restaurants and alehouses.
We do not have any parking of our own but recommend the public car park opposite. This is a short stay car park, but parking is free from 18.00 to 09.00. Alternatively, it may be possible to park directly outside our entrance in Devonshire Place.
Check-in time is from 13.00 until about 22.00 when we close up for the night. Guests can access the hotel after that time with their key. Check-out time is 10.00.
