A warm welcome awaits you at The Tollgate Inn and Restaurant, a renovated 17th Century Farmhouse nestling in the Cotswold village of Kingham, voted “England’s Favourite Village” by Country Life Magazine in 2004.

The Restaurant and Bar areas have recently been up-graded to create a welcoming and comfortable environment and now a delightful Sun Terrace has been created where you can enjoy a glass of something or dine al fresco. Now recommended in Egon Ronay’s 2006 Guide to the Best Restaurants and Gastropubs in the UK and The Michelin Good Pub Guide.

The Tollgate is the perfect getaway for either a quiet break from the city, that special night out, or as a fabulous introduction to the history and beauty of England's country garden and the “Dreaming Spires” of Oxford. We are also ideally placed for those on business in Oxford, Cheltenham, Stratford or Witney with access to the main line to Paddington.

Evening meals are available from Tuesday to Thursday (last table 9pm) and on Friday and Saturday evenings until 9.30pm.

Lunches are available Tuesday to Friday from 12 noon until
2-00pm and on Saturday and Sunday until 2-30pm.

The Tollgate is perfectly situated for touring The Cotswolds - an area of outstanding natural beauty.

The picturesque towns of Burford, Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water are all within easy reach.

Stately homes and National Trust houses and gardens can be found all over the area. From the splendour of Blenheim Palace to the beauty of Batsford Arboretum and Hidcote Manor, the Cotswolds are awash with floral colour throughout the summer and offer great days out for all the family.

Numerous family attractions are within easy reach including: Cotswold Wild Life Park, Birdland, Warwick Castle, plus the historic centres of Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford, Cheltenham and Bath are always great places to visit at any time of the year.

The area is also perfect for walking, cycling and has numerous golf courses. Whilst those with an passion for finding a bargain can while away the hours in one of the region's many antique centres and art galleries.
