The Ship Hotel
Welcome to Allonby, a small attractive village delightfully situated on the unspoiled solway coast between Maryport and Silloth. With beauitiful backdrop of the Lake district fells, the views across the sea to Scotland are spectacular to behold.

The Solway Coast is one of the most beautiful and relatively undiscovered coastlines in Britain, and the area around Allonby has been designated an 'Area of Outstanding Beauty', and is a haven for a variety of wildlife.

The Ship Hotel is a grade II listed building which was once a 17th century coaching inn on the Workington to Carlisle road. It is now a comfortable, owner managed hotel in a peaceful seaside village, offering a warm welcome to visitors to the Solway Coast and the nearby Lake District.

We did not stay at this hotel because the did not contact me back on e-mail as stated on the website and did not answer the phone when called . I had to book another hotel at short notice. Unsatisfactory to say the least!

I thought it was excellent - very friendly, comfortable, lovely clean rooms, great breakfast, - couldn't fault in any way. Very reasonably priced - would highly recommend.
