The Sawrey Hotel, Sawrey

The Sawrey Hotel is an ideal centre for all activities for which the Lake District is renowned. Across the Ferry from Windermere or a few miles from Hawkshead and Ambleside in the beautiful Lake District Village of Far Sawrey. The Sawrey Hotel is owned and run by the family, friends to many of their returning visitors.

Accommodation comprises 18 bedrooms all with a private bathroom. All bed rooms have private bathrooms, some with showers.On all tariffs children under 13 are half the adult rate, under 5 sharing with two adults, £5 per night and under 18 months free. Rooms are usually ready for occupation by 2.00pm on day of arrival and cannot be held after 6.00pm unless previously notified. Special fishing breaks, including permit and boat can be arranged through Hawkshead Trout Farm.

After a hard day's walking the fells or exploring the Lakes by car or boat, why not relax, in the lounge or on the lawn, with a book from our own bookshelves. (We even have the new Harry Potter). At the Sawrey, we pride ourselves on our excellent traditional English food. We serve an optional five course dinner each evening, and excellent bar lunches.

Within easy reach is Near Sawrey, famous for Beatrix Potter's Home, Hill Top, Esthwaite, and Hawkshead, where William Wordsworth went to school, the Grizedale Visitor Centre and Sculptures in the forest. Windermere, The Tarns and Claife Heights, Coniston Water; Brantwood and Ruskin Museum. Ambleside and The Langdales.
