Kay and David Gallagher welcome you to 'The Sandbeck' - a boutique style B&B (hotel standard) on the sea front in the coastal town of Whitby in North Yorkshire. Where else in Whitby can you sit back and directly from our windows witness mother nature's ever changing sea states. The B&B offers views right along Whitby's beaches from Sandsend Point and across the harbour to Saltwick Nab. The views truly are magnificent and with Whitby being a hidden gem of character and beauty, where better to spend a weekend than here in Whitby with us at 'The Sandbeck'.

Everyone knows the key ingredients of a luxury break are the accommodation, food and location. The Sandbeck has been designed by us to deliver on all counts. Yes we have the magnificent views but we also have stylish bedrooms and of course quality food and great service. You can choose the traditional holiday full English breakfast served by our courteous staff in our dining room or relax in the comfort of your own room with a leisurely breakfast from our at room breakfast menu including organic choices. At the end of the day you can reflect upon the day's events in our stylish bar lounge with a glass of wine or a gin and tonic from our Honesty Bar or alternatively take your drink and chill out in the comfort of your own room.

We do try to make your stay that little bit special so please take a look at our arrivals packages for a selection of choices including wine, champagne, flowers and chocolates, not to mention picnic hampers or lunch boxes. If you have anything you require then please call and ask and we will try to deliver.

Strictly no bookings will be taken for hen/stag parties or single sex groups of 4 or more, flouting of this rule will result on arrival of your deposits being forfit. However walking, golf or cycling groups please call for the great packages we can offer.

General
Thank you for considering "The Sandbeck". We look forward to welcoming you. When you make a booking you are entering an agreement with us. Please read our terms and conditions of booking below.
Please note that a reservation is a legally binding contract and on confirming the booking a non refundable deposit will be taken.

Prices
The price includes accommodation on a Bed and Breakfast basis. Unless clearly stated on the booking form all extras such dinner, drinks, chocolate, flowers etc are additional. We accept the following forms of payment; cash, debit cards, visa and mastercard.

Hen or Stag Parties
Strictly no bookings will be taken for hen or stag parties, flouting of this rule will result on arrival of your deposits being forfit.

Single sex group bookings of 4 or more please call 01947-604012 to discuss your requirements.

Walking, golf or cycling groups please call for packages and discounts we can offer.

Cancellation and Insurance
Cancellations within 10 days of arrival 50% of the full stay costs will be charged. Cancellations within 5 days of arrival the full stay costs will be charged.

All cancellations must be sent in writing by either email or letter to ourselves. We do not accept any cancellations by telephone.

On most occasions your holiday booking will happen as planned, however for your own peace of mind we urge you at the time of booking to consider taking out travel insurance or check your existing policy.

Arrival & Departure
Your accommodation is available to you from 2pm on the day of arrival, unless otherwise arranged. Please let us know if you plan to arrive after 8pm. Check out latest time is 10.30am on the day of departure, unless otherwise arranged.

Your bill for the accommodation and any extras or services taken during your stay are payable on departure.

Pets
Pets are not permitted.

Damages and Breakages
You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damage that is caused by accident or otherwise. If Any damage is caused you are responsible up to the full cost. The cost of damage and/or repair will be taken from the debit/credit card used to pay your bill or the debit/credit card used to secure your booking with us. The above also applies to anything that goes missing from the room.

Liability
We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.

All public areas and guest bedrooms are non smoking. Should you be found to be smoking in your room a charge of £100 will be made to your debit/credit card to cover the deep cleaning of furnishings and fabrics

Directions:

By Road: From A1(M)/M1 jct 45 take A64 east (York ring road south). Follow A169 from Malton through Pickering over the moors to A171 jct. Turn right to Whitby and follow West Cliff signs. Other routes, A171 from Middlesbrough or from Scarborough. By Public Transport: About 5-10 minutes walk from the station depending on luggage. About 4-5 minutes by taxi (fare currently under £3).
