We stayed for two nights at the Lion and Lamb, Congleton. We received a very warm welcome and stayed in a lovely clean & modern room in the new part of the hotel. There were beautiful white fluffy towels in the large bathroom. We didn't eat in the pub in the evening due to arriving very late the first night, and attending a wedding locally the following day but breakfast was excellent. Would definitely stay there again and would highly recommend it.

Excellent stay, we only stayed the one night, came up for a friends 50th in the local area so arrived around 2pm, the politeness, cheeriness & general appearance on arrival was beyond reproach, nothing was too much trouble, the landlord was always very attentive in fact all the staff were especially the young lady that dealt with us, food was very well presented & tasty to boot, the breakfast was cooked to order so again nothing was to much trouble. When no taxi could be arranged for us for the evening function they even drove us to the venue themselves, something that was astounding since they had only become owners a few weeks ago, ive stayed in 5 star hotels in the past & I can honestly say that the standard was equal if not better than those, well done & if we are in the area again I would most definitely stay at this hotel and will recommend it to any that ask. Well done Lion & Swan very impressed.

It was top. We went to see a mate's band at The Cygnet Club, then went to watch Vale on the Saturday - who lost 2-1 despite putting in a good performance. Can't argue with The Lion & Swan and will use the place again when I visit Congleton.
