The Kings Arms Hotel
Welcome to the Kings Arms, Hawkshead, which lies at the heart of the English Lakes in the beautiful vale of Esthwaite. The Inn, on Hawkshead's Main Square, has greeted visitors since Elizabethan times to a place where the pace of life remains quiet and unhurried.

Oak beams, an open fire and friendly faces greet visitors as they walk through the door of this 500-year-old Inn. Join us for a relaxing stay amidst the green hills and dales of Lakeland and we will be delighted to offer you good food, homely comfort and warm hospitality in historic surroundings. We have eight comfortable bedrooms and three self- catering cottages.

Children and good dogs are always very welcome.

The peaceful Square outside is access only for cars but parking is easy with our hotel permit in the pay and display car park nearby.

The Cottages:

West View (Sleeps 6)
West View is a bright, 3 bedroomed, recently renovated 16th Century cottage, conveniently close to all the village amenities. With private parking for two cars and a small garden and patio overlooking fields and forest, this really is a lovely haven to relax in and enjoy

Flag Cottage (Sleeps 5)
Flag Cottage is an 18th Century cottage in the heart of the village. Originally cattle and horses were housed at ground level.

Fern Cottage (Sleeps 4)
Fern Cottage is a quaint 18th Century Lakeland Cottage in a quiet yard off the Square in the Village centre. It was once the police house, but now the old lock-up and office is a spacious kitchen/dining area.

Everything great. Lovely staff, food, village, weather, room, shower. Shame it was Marston's beer but the other pubs made up for that

Fantastic pub with great atmosphere; we socialised there every night and enjoyed brilliant but cramped entertainment. The room was small but clean and ideal for what we needed. Hawkshead is very quiet but with lovely quint shops and within walking and driving distance of local attractions.
