We visited Aberdeen at the start and end of our trip to the Scottish Highlands to see whisky country and the beautiful sights. The hotel is situated within walking distance of downtown and close by the football stadium and university. The couple tending to the B&B were wonderful with great suggestions of places to go all through Northern Scotland -- if only we had another week to take them up on all the ideas! Room was a bit small, but fine - it is a B&B after all. Breakfast was great. I would highly recommend staying here! Great find!

Stayed here 1 night with 3 other women. My daughter and I shared a room with 2 twin beds, our bathroom was not en suite, but that was okay. Everything was clean and comfortable. The hosts, George and Alice, were very nice. George helped us map out a route to where we wanted to go next and offered suggestions of what to stop and see. Great advice! Had a great day - Thanks George!! Wish we'd had more time to spend in Aberdeen. Had my first Scottish Breakfast at Jay's Guest House - delicious!

We had a wonderful 1 night stay. We were 4 women, so we had 3 rooms, all twin beds, which is something one rarely sees in the USA. Immacutaly maintained, off street parking, nice breakfast and knowledgable hosts. They were able to give us suggestions and advice for continuing our holiday. Would not hesitate to stay again!!

I stayed athe the Jays for two nights and found it an excellent experience. My bedroom was comfortable, the breakfast was plentiful and freshly cooked, and Alice and George (the proprietors) made me feel so much at home. They seemed to enjoy the company of their guests and were certainly prepared to go the extra mile to ensure the guests' comfort. I had a problem with my early morning taxi booking (it failed to turn up as planned) but George and Alice really went out of their way to resolve the issue - I'd have missed my appointment had they not stepped in. The Guest House is about a 10 minute taxi journey from the main-line station. I would have no hesitation in recommending this Guest House.

The Jay's Guest House is a wonderful home away from home. Alice and George took wonderful care of me while I was in Aberdeen to visit my son at the University. I felt like I was staying with a beloved aunt and uncle. The room was scrupulously clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. Free wi-fi was included, which allowed me to check e-mail, book train tickets, and communicate with my family on Skype. The full Scottish breakfasts were always delicious and filling. I highly recommend the Jay's guest house.

It really was a pleasure to stay with George and Alice - they are natural hosts - very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The house is absolutely spotless and the breakfast was grand! I will most definitely stay again when in Aberdeen and have already recommended the guesthouse to several colleagues. : )

This is a very good B&B. I have stayed here twice and would recommend it strongly. It is slightly more expensive than most of its competitors but well worth its premium price. George and Alice are warm and welcoming, and always cheerful. My guest house of choice whenever I stay in Aberdeen. Stayed April 2011, traveled on business

Possibly the warmest greeting I've had staying at a B&B, it was almost like staying with good friends. Made to feel very welcome from the outset. The room was clean and neat. The location is within walking distance of the city centre. The price was very agreeable and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.

If you come to Aberdeen either for holidays or on a business trip, the Jays Guest House is simply THE place to stay ! George & Alice are such welcoming hosts and their house so comfortable, so cosy and so tidy... you really feel "at home" there ! And Alice is purely the "Queen of the Eggs" as I called her ;-) We indeed stayed at the Jays for 7 nights in a row and nearly on each morning, Alice managed to cook eggs in a different way... I tasted there perhaps the best omelette in my entire my life. Another positive point is that Alice & George are very proud of their town and they can recommend you with enthusiasm what to visit, what to do and where to eat in their dear town. As we wanted an accomodation near the University and the city center at the same time, that location was absolutely perfect, the guesthouse being at walking distance to both points of interest for us. Moreover, if you don't want to walk, there are several busses passing by in King Street every 10 minutes or so

I made a short-notice booking during a very busy time. Alice was a star and arranged a single room with no trouble. George was very helpful and when I arrived, the reception and explanations were tops...clear and easily understood. LOVELY and cozy little single room with all the amenities I expected to see. After a long trip, I could have happily fallen into that wonderful bed and just slept!! The whole house is CLEAN, and exceptionally well-maintained. QUIET (which can be unusual for a guesthouse, as some have thin walls and no noise insulation/dampening), and a totally peaceful sleep. Location was superb for me (near the university), but could be a bit of a walk to the downtown area and Union Street, BUT a bus stop nearby and only 3 minutes later and you're in the middle of the city. ALSO, although not often considered, Jays is only a few minutes' walk from a beautiful beach...pure bliss. If you have to go to Aberdeen, forget the antisceptic hotels--stay with a lovely couple in a ter

I was travelling for a week through Scotland with a friend of mine, and the Jays Guest House was the best place we stayed in during the whole week. Breakfast was delicious, our room was spacious, clean and quiet, and the owners were marvellous! We felt like home. If you are travelling through Scotland do not miss it!

Alice and George are two gorgeous hosts, and their service is faultless. My room was so cute and quiet, with a soft bed, a comfotable wardrobe, an useful desk, a flawless bathroom... and all's pinkish! What can I say about the breakfast? Was the best I ever ate! (I miss it so much... D; ) The location is great: a saescape from the window, near to the university and not far from the centre (a short walk and you are at the station!). Definetely, I want to return to the Jays Guest House.

A beautifully presented B&B with the most genuinely friendly and helpful hosts we have ever had the pleasure to meet. We would recommend this home away from home to anyone. The rooms are spotless, the location about 15min walk to CBD (flat walking) and the breakfast is delicious, just like mum used to make. George and Alice love their business and their clients are the ones who benefit and everyone is made to feel cared for and very welcome. A 6 star experience. George and Georgine - Australia

An excellent place to stay. The hosts, George and Alice are very friendly and welcoming and did all they could to ensure my stay was comfortable. Room was small but perfectly proportioned and spotless. I had one of the best nights sleep I've had for a long time. Breakfast was perfect too. I'm going to send my wife up for lessons! Don't waste your time or money with the major chain hotels, do yourselves a favour and spend a night here, you won't regret it!!!!!!

Simply outstanding accommodation in a comfortable, cozy home with hospitable hosts. Breakfast was beyond delicious, and George and Alice made us feel like family. When Alice noticed that my clothes I had washed in the sink in our room weren't drying well (it IS Scotland after all), she dried them in her clothes dryer for me. George printed off our boarding passes for us and helped us check in for our flights to Germany on-line. You can't do any better! :)

I have stayed at the Jays guest house several times in the last few months and have found it to be a very welcoming place to stay. Alice and George make all their guests feel at home. The location is perfect, close to the city centre and convenient for public transport. The rooms are very clean and the breakfast is excellent. I must mention that Alice makes the best scrambled eggs that I have ever tasted. This would be my first choice of place to stay in Aberdeen.
