The Hotel Continental, Harwich

The Continental is a small,independent hotel overlooking the sea at Dovercourt only minutes from Harwich International Port.

A modern interior in a victorian seaside property which is painted bright yellow on the outside; reminiscent of buttercups, sunflowers and oil seed rape. It is very informal, unpretentious and friendly and open to residents and non-residents alike.

The bar allows smoking until the summer of 2007. For non-smokers there is a seperate lounge well away from the smoking area. We have a license to sell alcohol from 6am to 2am and we stock an excellent selection of beers, wines and spirits.
The Dining Room seats 40, is non-smoking and serves food throughout the day and evening. You can choose from a Bar Snack menu through to A la Carte. We go for quality ingredients, organic more and more; and make the food on the premises catering for all tastes.

The 14 rooms are all different in decor, shape and size. They incorporate good design and many unusual features.All rooms have colour teletext TV's with Sky Sports and Film 4 channels. They have tea, coffee and chocolate refreshments, direct dial telephones and both modem and wifi connections.
As the owners like modern art there are pieces scattered all over the hotel.

Not a typical seaside hotel. But one that's a home.
