The Grand Hotel
The Grand Hotel, Swanage nestles in the heart of the beautiful Isle of Purbeck and dates to 1898. This 3 star hotel commands a majestic situation providing a most spectacular view across Swanage Bay and Peveril Point. Many of its rooms and public areas take advantage of these delightful views, where one can relax enjoying a drink, read complimentary newspapers and magazines or even fall asleep!

All of the 30 en-suite bedrooms are individually decorated complementing the ambience of a time gone by. A passenger lift serves all floors including lower ground floor where there are full leisure facilities.

On summer days the delightful garden is an ideal place to soak up the sun, enjoy a drink, lunch or afternoon tea. It also provides direct access to a private beach with beach shop and cafeteria from which huts may be rented.

The Burlington Club served by the passenger lift provides full leisure facilities including heated indoor plunge pool, solarium, steam room, sauna, gymnasium with the latest cardiovascular equipment for fitness enthusiasts.

The restaurant offers fine cuisine and has been recognised with an AA Rosette Award for outstanding cuisine. The evening meal uses the finest of fresh local produce to give exciting and innovative cuisine indulging the palate in mouth-watering delight, but consideration by friendly attentive staff is also given to the less adventurous taste. Extensive bar lunches can be ordered or delicious home-made biscuits with morning coffee and wonderful home-made cakes with afternoon tea.

Swanage is as gorgeous as always, so it was a shame to be given a room overlooking the road rather than the bay. We all had a lovely weekend all the same.

Nearby Attractions:

Dorset and the Isle of Purbeck offer so many great days out, whether it is rolling down a hill in a giant inflatable plastic ball (called a Zorb), hiking along our renowned Jurassic coast line, visiting the many historic sites and landmarks, or tasting the award-winning Chococo chocolate at their factory and shop located minutes away in the centre of town.
Swanage and the surrounding area are a great destination for both advanced and amateur golfers. There is an 18 hole golf course at Studland and the Swanage Pitch and Putt in Kirkwood Park as well as a small course at Beach Gardens.

An excellent special rate at £48 for dinner, bed and breakfast. Superb view from bedroom. Excellent breakfast and evening meal. Bedroom and bathroom attractive and clean apart from the inside of bathroom door. The lounge bar etc. warm and inviting. A relaxed atmosphere.
