Welcome to The Crown at Wells...15th century Grade II listed coaching inn providing affordable and comfortable accommodation in the very heart of the historic City of Wells, Somerset.

The Crown is overlooked by the magnificent Wells Cathedral and the Bishops Palace, with its beautiful grounds and moat. The Crown's central location makes a superb base to tour Wells and the many surrounding attractions in this wonderful part of Somerset.


Superb food served in Anton's Bistrot and The Penn Bar, with something to suit every taste and budget. Warm welcome and friendly service in relaxed and comfortable surroundings.

excellent hotel would dsefinatly stay there again

Lovely area, and very friendly staff. Rooms a good size, but very hot, and it wasn't summer time yet. - small window didn't give much air. Weather outside was warm, but not summer, so think it would be stifling if temp above 20C. Good breakfast, and room very clean. Overall, and good place to stay - very central.
