The Channel Guest House, Weymouth

The Channel Guest House is superbly located on Weymouths'famous Georgian Esplanade and enjoys extensive panoramic sea views across the sandy bay. Conveniently, situated opposite the Clock Tower, close to the Railway Station and Condor Ferry Terminal and central for exploring the wonderful Jurassic Coastline and famous sailing waters designated for the Olympic Sailing Events in 2012.

The Channel is a family run guest house, where our aim is to give you the best possible experience while you visit Weymouth and the surrounding areas. We welcome holiday and business guests alike, many of our guests choose to return to us again having enjoyed their initial experience.
We are family friendly and welcome children of all ages.

We hold 3 star quality ratings from VisitBritain (Quality in Tourism). We have been awarded a coveted silver award from Green Tourism for our efforts to run the business in the most environmentally friendly way we can, and we also have accreditation from the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Team as a Quality Business Scheme member. We also hold a SILVER food hygiene award from Weymouth & Portland Borough Council.
The accommodation consists of 11 centrally heated en suite bedrooms. Family/Twin/Double or Single Rooms. All comfortably furnished and clean. Each room has Tea/Coffee making facilities, Colour Television, Radio/alarm clock, Hairdryer and Bathroom Courtesy Basket. Seaview and Non Sea View Rooms available.

Car parking permits allotted to us by the local authorities are limited therefore it is recommended that you advise us at the time of booking if you require a permit for your stay in order that we can allocate one to you.

The Channel Goes Green
=====================
The Channel is actively involved in Green initiatives and practices to help ensure our impact on the local environment and indeed the wider environment is kept to an absolute minimum, and we are constantly reviewing our activities to further reduce this impact.
Activities we are already doing:
- We actively recycle all glass, plastic, tin, cardboard and paper. We therefore send as little to landfill as we possibly can.
- We compost all compostable materials from the kitchen and other areas of the house.
- All eggs used are locally sourced free range eggs.
- In the process of changing all light bulbs to low energy equivalents.
- Thermostats on central heating have been lowered slightly in order to reduce the amount of energy used to run central heating.
- Washing machines and dishwashers switched to ECO friendly detergents.
- All electrical devices that can be turned off, are turned off and not switched to standby whilst not in use, and signs are in guest rooms asking them to switch TV's off and not switch them to standby to conserve energy.
- Signs in rooms asking guests to fold towels or hang on towel rails if they're happy to re-use them rather than send to laundry after each use.
