The Casterbridge
The Casterbridge, Dorchester is a 5 star B&B, with disabled facilities. Our Georgian residence and concealed courtyard annex combine to provide a peaceful haven behind the bustling street scene of this pleasant and historic county town.

Breakfast, taken in dining-room or conservatory, is a generous affair from healthy fresh fruit and yoghurt to porridge and mixed grill. Alternatively, home-made marmalade, croissants, muffins and assorted juices can afford a leisurely start from the privacy of your room. The choice is yours.

Our 15 bedrooms are all en-suite. You may prefer the Georgian style of our four poster bedroom, or the intimacy of a peaceful attic room, or even the contemporary style of a ground floor room with its own private patio. This room is wheelchair accessible. We try to meet your needs whatever they may be. Our drawing room affords seclusion and comfort. There is a wealth of local literature in our small bar/library which may be studied over a quiet drink. Menus of recommended restaurants have been collated to assist with your plans.

Your visit may be on business or pleasure. Either way, we encourage you to relax away from The Madding Crowd. Our staff are available throughout the day to ensure a plentiful supply of freshly brewed tea or coffee and biscuits, together with any other local information you may need.We are open throughout the year with the exception of Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

The Hotel was a well appointed and the service very helpful and friendly. The room was very comfortable. The location of Dorchester was not what we hoped for and would rethink the choice of stopping point in our tour.
