Scaitcliffe Hall Hotel
Originally the seat of the Crosslee dynasty, Scaitcliffe Hall can be traced to the middle of the fourteenth century. The Crosslees, local landowners and latterly magistrates, remodeled the hall over five centuries, constructing the present hall in 1821.

Built in a Tudor fashion with a porch, mullions and leaded lights, the building still incorporates some of its earlier materials, in particular the numerous stained-glass windows in the Garden Room and the large rear window of the main stairwell.

The town of Todmorden itself is a thriving market town that lies on the Yorkshire/Lancashire county border, surrounded by stunning Pennine landscape and magnificent Victorian architecture. Access to the motorway network is ideal, with the M62 ten miles to the west and M6 fifteen miles to the north.

As Calderdale’s premier venue for weddings and special events, the staff at Scaitcliffe Hall give you a level of service that perfectly compliments its stunning location, creating memories to cherish. Conference facilities are also available with a number of rooms suitable for conferences, seminars and one-to-one interviews.

The 24 bedrooms of Scaitcliffe Hall Hotel are all individually designed reflecting a tradition of space and country living. All Bedrooms are en-suite with both bath and shower facilities. All rooms have a colour television, trouser press and tea and coffee making facilities.

There are two categories of rooms available at Scaitcliffe Hall Hotel. Superior rooms are in the old hall itself with original wooden beams across the ceiling and standard rooms situated in the Lancashire wing that was completed in 1999.

The garden room as the hotel’s main lounge is the favourite venue for morning coffee and afternoon tea, a peaceful room to relax and enjoy the tranquility of the surrounding gardens. The Resident’s bar is a popular meeting place for pre and post dinner drinks, offering a full range of liqueurs and cigars.

The Restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner. Menus are varied and there is a choice of A La Carte and Daily set menus. The hotel prides itself on in the quality and freshness of its local produce and home grown herbs from the kitchen garden.

The hotel was nice and the staff was very helpful. It is a little bit far away from the center and the building in some places isn't very well maintained.

Had a lovely stay, shame about the weather. Staff made us feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble for them. Nice clean room with good views. Will definately be staying again.

The staff at the Scaitcliffe were very welcoming and helpful and are a real credit to the business. The hotel itself has great potential, but needs a little TLC and a tidy up outside the bedroom windows (Room 316 in particular).
