The Royal Oak is set in the beautiful village of Winsford in the heart of the Exmoor National Park.
The Royal Oak offers relaxed comfort, inspiring food and wine, local ales, and warm, exceptional service.
Come to the Royal Oak for a weekend retreat, a candle lit dinner, a well earned sportsman’s lunch or simply a quiet pint of Exmoor Ale and bag of pork scratchings.
We moved to Exmoor in July 2007 for probably the same reasons that you are coming to visit. Having spent several years in London working in restaurants, bars and event catering we wanted to escape the city and make a life for ourselves in the country. Our passion for good food and ingredients is what inspired us both to start our own business, and when we found the Royal Oak, we thought we would give it a go! We made the right decision, and are loving getting to know our new community and the challenge that reviving this fabulous inn is giving us.
