We stopped off at Prested Hall for one night on the way to visiting family. The hotel is set in lovely grounds and there are some nice walks in the area. The room was perfect, the food was great and the facilities excellent, particularly the fantastic pool. We would definitely stay again, for longer hopefully.

Splendid rural location, close to West to East Essex villages/visiting centers. Grounds unfussy and natural. Ideal for tree-species, walks and birdlife. Complimentary linked with historic periods of change and industrious management. This Country Hotel clearly denotes a favourite with visitors and local folk for those 'special' occasions. Short-lived but so pleasant an experience. Definately recommend for above average accommodation/services. Especially Health/Sports enthusiasts. Excellent cuisine enjoyed as well as comfortable, relaxing rooms to relish the Hotel's lovingly maintained interior. Friendly, genuine staff incorporate your personal requirements. Have just stayed at the Prested Hall with my mother for a few days whilst visiting family friends. It is set in lovely grounds and the hotel was quiet and very clean. Clearly a venue for weddings and conferences but suited us perfectly. We stayed in the main hotel and visited the health club as we went for a 'pamper package'. I wouldn't describe the gym as luxury spa standard but it offered good value for money with excellent therapists. Alison gave us a lovely facial and manicure and was a delightful therapist and I experienced one of the best massages ever with Natalie, not to be missed. The breakfasts were first class and the evening meal also very enjoyable. The staff were friendly and efficient with impeccable manners.

Prested Hall is one of Essex's 'hidden gems' and we wish that we'd discovered it sooner, especially as it's virtually on our doorstep. Everything in the main hotel is first rate - the food (they deserve their rosette awards), the surroundings and the room. I have never slept in such a comfortable bed (and I'm very fussy about bed quality), and the bathroom was like something you see in the glossy magazines. The staff were attentive, helpful and friendly and proud of their hotel, which has a fascinating history. Yes, there is evidence of building work, but the hotel is going to develop and they can't do that without some minimal short-term visual distruption. In any case, it's in 75 acres of land with many trees which are part of an old arbouretum, so there's no shortage of beautiful views. Oh, and you can get married there too.

My husband treated me and two friends to a Pamer Day. It was all we thought it would be and more. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The treatments were outstanding, Facial, Massage, and a new expeirence - an Indian Face Massage, for those who have never tried it we would highly recommend it. If there were one area we thought could be immproved on was the food, it could have been hotter. We were made to feel very special and left feeling very relaxed - Job done!! Would diffinitely do again

We attended a family wedding. the snow had fallen and created a wonderful setting for a white winter wedding. The staff were amazing the food was amazing and the grounds were beautiful. Totally recommend this hotel and will be returning in the summer to see the fantastic mature trees in the grounds in full leaf.
