I needed a cheap option close to Heathrow for a 24 hour layover. All the other hotels (close to the airport) are way too expensive...and many, although close to Heathrow have NOTHING nearby...nothing to walk to, etc. You might as well be in Kansas. The Oakwood is a great option. It offers basic but charming accomodation at the most competive price. I spent hours online trying not to pay over $300 a night. The other budget options are too far away, or have horrible reviews. The Oakwood had good reviews and a very reasonable price (I paid around $110 USD)The Oakwood is a $14 (7pounds or so) cab ride from Heathrow (a bit more expensive for Terminal 4 or 5)...Note: there are no free shuttles from the airport (like in the States)...so you will pay no matter what...no matter where you go.The Oakwood is so close to the airport, but not in the flight path. It is situated in a charming little suburb...within 5 minutes walking distance there are great restaurants, grocery stores, pubs and the tra

Stayed for one night on way to Heathrow. Arrived by train and pleasantly surprised that the Oakwood Guest House was close to West Drayton Station. Basic room, but ticked all the boxes and excellent cooked English breakfast.

Very handy B&B for Heathrow Airport, great breakfast. Big selection of comfy rooms here and nothing too much trouble from Patricia. - would definitely recommend the Oakwood Guest House with no problems at all.
