Neuadd Wen Country Guest House, Carmarthen

Neuadd Wen is a comfortable, beamed Country Guest House set in the Duad Valley amongst the wooded hills of West Wales, local Welsh craft industries, sandy beaches and many other attractions.

In the midst of a large farming community and less than two hours drive from the Severn Bridge, we have an attractive Country Guest House alongside the River Duad. Guests are able to enjoy the natural peace and beauty of the surrounding unspoilt countryside with its abundance of wild life, where foxes are sometimes sighted and Herons, Buzzards and Jays are often seen.

The village of Cwmduad is found on the A484, equidistant between Carmarthen and Newcastle Emlyn. Carmarthen is the County Town overlooking the beautiful Towy Valley and is known as "The Gateway to the West". It provides an excellent shopping area and is a busy administrative, agricultural and commercial centre. It is steeped in history, dating from the Romans in 75 AD.

Neuadd Wen is a licensed Guest House set in beautiful and natural surroundings. The house is well furnished and very comfortable. There are two lounges, a quiet lounge with log fire and a T.V. Lounge with video and games cupboard. A selection of newspapers and periodicals are always available.

All bedrooms are heated, most have en suite facilities and all have colour T.V., tea/ coffee making tray, hairdryer, ample storage space and direct dial telephone. The standard rooms have a washbasin with shared toilet and bathroom facilities close by. Two of the en suite rooms are on the ground floor, allowing access for the disabled.

There is a separate ground floor bathroom available for those who prefer a bath. The family rooms have a king size double bed and a children's room leading off with 2'6" bunk beds. The en suite bathroom has bath with shower, hand basin and toilet. There is a single room nearby for a third child.

The Dining Room with its magnificent collection of over 300 milk jugs, has separate tables for breakfast and evening meals. We are renowned for quality, variety and value, using local produce wherever possible. Most special diets are catered for with prior notice. Alcoholic and soft drinks may be bought at the bar at any time. Packed lunches are also available to residents.

Outside there is ample safe off road parking. Children are welcome and there are a variety of games, puzzles and books for all ages. Baby sitting can be arranged, cots and a high chair being available.

Dogs are permitted by arrangement. Access to the Guest House and its facilities are available at all times. For people who prefer to travel by public transport, there is a regular bus service from Carmarthen to Cwmduad. Alternatively, customers can be collected from the bus or train station.
