Welcome to Moorcote, perched on a hill overlooking the small town of Moretonhampstead, in the Dartmoor National Park. This Victorian house is set well back from the road in attractive gardens where guests are welcome to sit and relax at any time.

The house is tastefully furnished, with most bedrooms benefiting from stunning views across Dartmoor and the surrounding countryside. The four-diamond rating awarded by the AA is your sign of quality assurance, giving you the confidence to book the accommodation that meets your expectations.

The location makes an ideal base for those wishing to explore Dartmoor with its wonderful open moorland scenery. Friendly, Beautiful and elegant. although I didn’t have it myself, my parents and brother did and their fried breakfast is very ample and not at all what you would expect a FRYED breakfast to be, it was clean and non greasy. Their cereal selection was excellent. The rooms were large and comfortable with free-to-view television and for longer stayers plenty of room for clothing storage. The ensuite bathrooms were a very nice touch. The showers weren’t at all as I was expecting although the same as those found in caravans (white plastic) the pressure was most enjoyable and a good shower could be had. The owners have two pet Labradors who are so quiet and friendly, and you only see the couple (owners) at breaky and on arrival and upon leaving. The price is extremely reasonable for the area and views. I must admit if there was more to do in the immediate area I would have stayed longer than I did, however only travelling down for a relatives wedding in Bovey castle/manor it was not to
