Mollys cottage
Molly’s cottage is a Grade II listed period cottage situated, in an enviable position on Lower High Street, opposite the beautifully built St Catharine’s church in this delightful old market town. Although recently modernised it contains many of the original doors, windows and floors, some dating back to the 1700’s.

The front door of this lovely self-catering cottage opens into the cosy sitting room with open fireplace and original flagstone floor. From here walk through to the good-sized fitted kitchen with fridge, freezer, electric cooker, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, and toaster and French doors opening onto the garden terrace, complete with garden furniture. The fully enclosed, narrow garden ends with another patio overlooking the peaceful river Cam, (which is really no more than a stream!) with farmland beyond and views to Westington.

Also on the ground floor is the bathroom again with flagstone floor, and has a walk-in shower, toilet and wash hand basin. The original staircase winds upstairs to two double bedrooms. The first has super king size bed with views towards St Catherine’s church, and the original elm plank floor. The second room is smaller with standard double bed and views over the garden, and fields beyond. There is a good range of shops including boulangerie, greengrocer, butcher general store etc, and plenty of excellent places to eat all within a few minutes walk.

Cottage small and quaint. Good location but poor parking. Amenities fine. Shower too small though. Reported FLEAS in beds and upstairs. Checked out early. Owners deny my claims despite children being bitten badly and blame us! No refund or compensation given. Very poor response in general. Would never stay there again or in any other of their properties.

In the end we stayed in Benfield Cottage which was very good. Molly's Cottage wasn't available for the dates we wanted.

Cottage was nice but too small for 4; not enough instructions for appliances, very uncomfortable lounge furniture. Owner didn't reply to email questions -- would not rent any property from them again.
