Moffat House Hotel
Situated in the centre of the beautiful village of Moffat, Moffat House Hotel is a gracious three storey John Adams mansion. Built in the 1750’s it is a smaller replica of the famous Hopetoun House in Edinburgh. Originally built for the Earl of Hopetoun, the charm and elegance has been retained through careful modernisation.

Moffat House has retained its charm and elegance throughout the years and offers an historic venue where excellent food and friendly atmosphere are combined.

Moffat House is conveniently located directly off the M74 between Carlisle and Glasgow and on the scenic route to Edinburgh.

Stayed overnight on a trip from Cornwall to Northern Scotland. The room was basic but adequate for a one night stopover. I dont think that I would wish to stay longer.

Only stayed for one night but delighted with this hotel and would certainly use it again and longer next time. It is located in the centre of the village. The staff were excellant , nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were large and nicely furnished. Plenty of parking for guests. We ate in the bar in the evening and the food was also excellant. Breakfast was very good too with the "Full Scotish" if required. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel and have already given it a 5/5 on Tripadvisor.

The hotel is a typical Best Western.. It's clean and comfortable. The room was lovely (18) however it is prone to noise from above which can mean a disturbed night. The food was excellent if limited in range. I would recommend the porridge!
