Marlborough House
The 4 star, pet friendly, Marlborough Guest House is an enchanting, small establishment owned and operated by Peter Moore in a friendly and informal style. Located close to the heart of Georgian Bath, and all the major attractions, this large and impressive stone Victorian house, built in 1867, has well proportioned and spacious rooms which are all furnished with antiques to create that individual period atmosphere.

We have been rated by the following Tourism Boards:
AA - 4 Diamonds
English Tourism Council - 4 Diamonds
Green Merit Award

Marlborough House has six bedrooms; every one handsomely furnished with antiques and containing either an antique wood four-poster, or a Victorian brass and iron bed. Each room is unique, and all are lovely, comfortable, scrupulously clean, and provided with complementary sherry and an abundant hostess tray.

Marlborough House is non-smoking throughout, as the proprietors and staff strive to keep the hotel environment as congenial as possible for all the guests (from the halest-and-heartiest to those who are allergic or chemically sensitive), keeping the rooms exquisitely clean using only ecologically sound cleaning products and by providing organic herbal toiletries for the guests' use.

Guests might desire to stay the morning in the luxury of their room, where breakfast is available by room service.

Directions:

DIRECTIONS:
From the M4, take the Bath exit Junction 18 (A46 to Bath), winding through the green hills surrounding Bath. From the A46, take the Bath exit, through the big roundabout and on the the A4 (London Road), where you must stay despite all efforts to draw you around the outskirts. You will be driving along with the other traffic until you come to a large traffic lit intersection. This is where all signs point to the city centre on your left. They are a trick! Here you must be in the right lane so you can keep straight on the road into Bath, right through Bath (staying on the A4) as if you were heading toward Bristol (A4) and you will drive through our small uptown district, around three sides of Queens Square and out the other side, turning left onto Charlotte Street, down to where it joins the Upper Bristol Road (the A4 again).

On your right you will see a row of guest houses and B&B's which are opposite the Smiles newsagents on your left. Immediately after the newsagents you will approach a right hand filter lane in the middle of the carriageway - this is the turning for Marlborough Lane which is opposite a Vauxhall dealer garage on your left. Turn right into Marlborough Lane and then immediately on your right is Marlborough House.

The rooms are very comfortable and the staff is very helpful. The brakfasts were excellent. The b & b is about a ten minute walk to the city center and the main sites. Bath is a delightful place to visit and the Marlborough House an excellent value.
