Maison Dieu Guest House Dover THE ideal place to get away from it all - and take a Short Break. Kent is a beautiful county - steeped in History. Dover is famous for it's wonderful castle and white cliffs, but nearby Kentish towns of Canterbury, Hastings, Battle, Rye and Sandwich (among others) offer the chance not only to admire the beautiful countryside peppered with medieval timbered building and oast houses - but also to explore England’s rich history. From the Dover Port take a day trip to France on one of the many ferries crossing the English Channel every day - visit Calais or Boulogne or go further afield. Cruise ships visit the port throughout the busy summer season making a spectacular sight – you can view them from the Prince of Wales pier.

We were warmly greeted, given directions to our destination, our luggage stored. When we returned, our luggage was in the room. We were given info concerning breakfast and check-in and found our rooms as we had booked. It was a lovey place but would be quite hot in the summer as there was no AC and only a small window. We left ours open and had to deal with traffic noise but it wasn't bad. We were on the third floor so it was warm even though outside was pleasant. We quite enjoyed the breakfast and it was even better that they had gluten-free offerings. We stayed one night and feel it was a good value for the money. Thanks to Di and Barry!!!

We have stayed here on several occasions as a stop over before going on an early morning ferry to Calais. The Guest House is excellent with extremley friendly owners. When we have arrived they have always offered us a cup of tea with no extra cost. The room we always stay in is very clean and very comfortable with a large en-suite. Unfortunately we have never had the chance to have breakfast as we are up and out by 3.30pm to catch the ferry but I am sure it would be extremely good. There is tea and coffee making facilities in the bedroom which we have used to wake us up!! We would thoroughly recommend this Guest House being a very high standard for a very competitive price.

My stay was excellent. I wish I could have stayed longer. The owner was very helpful in directing me to the Dover Castle. I would like to stay there again if I travel that way again.
